Our impact

What your support has made possible since 2013.

Since 2013 Migrant Empowerment Group has served 14,440 people in the West Midlands, helped 2,643 people with food and employment, and given away 850 computers and tablets, supported by 75 volunteers.

Our story so far

  1. 2013MEG is founded in July. The first community Christmas party is held at Wednesfield Library.
  2. 2014HIV awareness event for migrants and local communities. First Refugee Week celebration.
  3. 2015–2018Weekly ESOL classes, Saturday football, International Women’s Day and Refugee Week every year.
  4. 2018Food bank opens twice a week. Recycling and free redistribution of clothes and furniture begins.
  5. 2020COVID-19: extra help for people self-isolating, shielding, and for parents and children.
  6. 2021Activities move online. Food, tablets, laptops and hot meals delivered to families and older people.
  7. 2022Face-to-face music, ESOL, dance and IT classes return. Tablets and six months of free Wi-Fi for learners.
  8. 2023300 tablets, 500 laptops and 50 desktop computers given to people in need.
